To attract potential buyers to Little Holmby and Holmby Hills, the Janss corporation donated 385 acres of their 3,296-acre Wolfskill ranch tract to the University of California to build UCLA. They basically sold the 385 acreages for $1 million, giving the University a $3 million dollar gift. Within days of announcing a new campus $1 million dollars worth of lots sold.
