Little Holmby Neighborhood

Little Holmby is special neighborhood located right next to Holmby Hills, characterized by spacious vintage homes on wide mature tree-lined, winding streets and undulating hills.  Most homes in Little Holmby were constructed from 1920 to 1950 with a variety of both traditional revival and mid-century style homes, with some homes envisioned by the famed architect Paul Williams.  It is situated in a prime location bordered by Wilshire Boulevard to the south, Sunset Boulevard to the north, Beverly Glen Boulevard to the east, and UCLA to the west.  The neighborhood centers around the beautiful Holmby Park and includes a highly rated elementary school called Warner Avenue Elementary.

Some fun facts about Little Holmby include:

• Little Holmby features English-inspired street names including: Strathmore Drive, Comstock Avenue, Dalehurst Avenue, Westholme Avenue, Woodruff Avenue.

• To attract potential buyers to Little Holmby and Holmby Hills, the Janss corporation donated 385 acres of their 3,296-acre Wolfskill ranch tract to the University of California to build UCLA. They basically sold the 385 acreages for $1 million, giving the University a $3 million dollar gift.  Within days of announcing a new campus $1 million dollars worth of lots sold.

• Little Holmby centers around the beautiful Holmby Park and it has a high rated elementary school called Warner Avenue Elementary

• There are no power lines in Little Holmby adding to the character and pristine environment which a lot of buyers really value

  It is Important to note that there is a Holmby Westwood Property Owners Association along with a Design Review Board; and some homes have a Little Holmby Covenants Conditions and Restrictions CC&R'S which are important for buyers and sellers to understand.
